*Snort of disgust*

She snorts with disgust.  "Get a room," she says.  "Eww..." they croon.

Their comments only enforce our behavior.  I kiss him again.  And he kisses me back... with his whole family watching - mom, dad, brother, sisters, niece & nephew.

Then, his sister smiles, "Aww... they're still in the honeymoon stage.  How sweet."

It was at this point that my wonderful husband pulled me tighter to his chest, kissed my forehead and replied, "If we ever get out of this stage, then something is wrong."

People who have been married for a long time may think that we're mushy, sappy, still newlyweds.  But I don't see that as the case.

The honeymoon stage should last throughout our lives.  I don't ever want to lose that feeling.  Being excited to get home because I know he's waiting, my heart thudding a little harder when he shoots me that smile from across the room, the way I fill up with pride when he shows PDA's (especially around his family)...

I pray that I never dim in the vicious, all-consuming love that God described in the Song of Solomon.

I hate to break the news to them --- while it's not perfect, this love, this feeling, is how it's supposed to be.
